We have taught five official classes at the Dar Chebab, and are waiting right now to teach another 3 or 4 this afternoon. Thus far they've all been some sort of English class, ranging from counting and the alphabet to the past continuous. At 4:30 and 6:00 every afternoon, students just start pouring in. Some of them come to work with some of the associations based out of the DC (we know of a music one and a theater one), others are now coming in because they know there are some Americans who can teach English.
Here's Toby with Anass (host cousin mentioned in previous posts) working with a group of 9-13 year old boys on beginning English and computer skills.
This is the same day, but more of an angle of Alexis' advanced English with a group of high school girls.
Soon we'll be adding in classes about American culture, advanced Baccalaureate prep, different sports, computer skills, and maybe a book and/or movie club.
Also this week we'll be heading to the Dar Talib (kind of like a boy's dorm for students who live out of town in areas without a high school) to do more Baccalaureate prep, as the test is next month, then hopefully more English classes and sports throughout the year.
We are also happy to report that a shop selling these beauties is on our way home from the DC.
